Abstract

This study analyzed structure of Tegodek Dait Tetuntel fable. Through these structures, it will be seen the role of each character in relationto the behavior of Sasak community based on the social levels . By using the structural analysis methods of Levi-Strau,it is shown that Tegodek and Tetuntel fable is not only presenting two main characters,  ‘Godek’ (monkey) and Tuntel (frogs/toads), but it is also presenting some phenomena of opposition figures such as ‘Godek’ is always insuperior position, while figures of Tuntel is always in inferior position. This indicates that ‘Godek’ figure is representation of a higher social class, while Tuntel is representation of a lower social class. Relating to the behavior, the ‘Godek’ character has a more active behavior, while the Tuntel figure tends to bea  passive behavior. If it is related to "working" activities, Tuntel figures have more knowledge than the characters of Tuntel. In relation to the behavior of revealing facts, the Tuntel figures tend to reveal something accordance with the facts, while the ‘Godek’ figures tend to precede the prestige that sometimes they do not meet the facts. When it is dealt with a problem solving, ‘Godek’ figures are more like doing intervention, whereas Tuntel figures to be relentless.

The promotion of bahasa Indonesia as an international language, as stated in the Article No. 44 of the Law No. 24 of 2009, is indirectly meant to give a wider oppurtunity to introduce bahasa Indonesian to the world through the learning of bahasa Indonesia for foreign learners. This   article is a simple review and a result of action reseach conducted by Nastiti (2010) in the BIPA program of Trisakti University. The result shows that the learners from Madagascar mastered bahasa Indonesian faster than other learners. It is assumed that such progress occurred due to the similarity in the language family, Austronesian language. This article discusses a medium of interaction of bahasa Indonesian for foreign learners through the exploration of the similarities of a language family, i.e between bahasa Indonesian and Malagasi language. Cross linguistics understanding and the learners’ language influenced significantly to the mastery of the target language. This article describes several words in Malagasi language which are derived from loan words from a number of local languages in Indonesia, such as Ma’anyan language (Kalimantan), Malay, Javanese, and South Sulawesi languages. These load words were used as a medium for learning bahasa Indonesian (BIPA) among Madagascar learners. Results of analysis shows thatthere was a number of levels of difficulty pertaining to the structure of the learners’language and the instructional prediction of BIPA learners from Madagascar which benefit for BIPA teachers especially for those who involes in Developing Country Program or other BIPA programs.

Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that the interferences occurred among the Malaysian TKI populations are caused by interaction, habitual use of Malayan language for communication and their long period serving as TKI. In addition, forms of language interferences of the Malaysian TKI are phonological interference which occurs through shift of vowel phoneme, shift of consonant phoneme, and articulation of vowel and consonant phoneme. Beside that, morphological interference also occurs through prefix di-, clitics –nya, preposition di, full reduplication and partial reduplication. Finally, syntactic interference occurs in term of function, category and role.
